I think a lot of us have wondered before what it would be like if we have a fake Facebook profile. We wonder how that would benefit our lives.
The truth is that it is not the best idea and there are a variety of reasons for that.
For starters creating a fake profile takes a lot of work. You have to put in a lot of legwork to make it look as if it is a legitimate profile.
This includes adding photos, finding new friends and adding content like photos and engaging with your new ‘friends’. To build it up really does take a lot of work.
Once you have set it up you have to start asking yourself why you are you doing it?
I mean there is going to be quite a lot of difficulty involved in making sure that the fake person looks real.
Certainly any benefit that you hope to gain from your fake account is sure to be fraudulent.
Facebook keeps making it tougher to create a fake profile. This means that anyone that hopes to be successful with their fake profile needs to be careful.
If an account is thought to be fake, Facebook will often block your access to it. Then they will ask you to provide a copy of your personal id to determine that it is a real person.
It seems like such an extreme measure for a website to enforce but that is the world we live in now.
For many people their facebook account is seen as an extension of themselves. For this reason there needs to be the appropriate protection measures in place.
A common reason for starting a fake facebook profile is so people can do things that they would not normally do on their public profile. They can write crazy comments and post silly pictures.
Using this profile they can also somehow hope in some way to promote their business activities. To be honest though I have no idea how this would work.
The best reason I can think why someone would create a fake profile is they are trying to be anonymous on Facebook the same way they can be on Youtube.
This enables them to be more active without all their family and mates seeing what they are up to.
It sounds like an alright idea from the outset. And to be honest I think that you should really be able to create a fake Facebook account if you just want to be a little bit more secretive.
The best legitimate way around this that I can think of is to create a new ‘page’ with your existing account.
A new page will allow you to comment and share things you wouldn’t normally share on your personal account.
Facebook is so pervasive in the public space that experimenting and playing around with it should be okay.
And I am not fully familiar with Facebook’s security systems but I feel as long as you keep the fake profile small and you’re not drawing too much attention to yourself you will be able to get away with it.
In my experience it is as soon as you have done too much obvious activity like adding too many random people that you will get sprung.
So if you are clever about it for sure you should be able to create a fake Facebook account fairly easily I think.
