You would want to choose a keyword that has low competition status on the Google Adwords Keyword Planner. The keyword must be relevant for the article that you have written or are about to write.
Even keywords that have no data can be a good choice: you will have a high chance of dominating it.
It is going to be better to focus on long-tail keywords. These keywords are going to be way less competitive and you’ll stand a much better chance at ranking for them.
- Choose the best article title
The title is very important for article marketing SEO. It is best if the targeted keyword is in the first word of the title.
You might be able to rank immediately if it is not a competitive keyword.
4. Write an awesome article
Now you can go about creating your masterpiece. Make sure that your copy is relevant to the title you have chosen. It is better if you mention the keyword in the first paragraph and then throughout the article.
The quality of the article will depend on your abilities as a writer. You should have your own unique style as an author. You might have some techniques that keep your readers engaged.
There is a lot of information out there about how to write a good article. The truth is that there is no one way to go about it. The best way to improve is to keep writing and read successful blogs.
It is also perfectly okay if you write the article before choosing the title. Actually this is highly encouraged.
5. Email outreach to other websites to get a guest post
Start reaching out to other websites to try and get guest posts. Start small, you are not going to get on inc.com straight off the bat. Don’t limit yourself- approach all sorts of different websites. Here your skills as a marketer will be in full swing.
You will have to convince other bloggers that you are capable of adding value. Do not be shy to show off your achievements.
If you have had any high profile guest blogs definitely link to them in your email. Share your social media accounts if you have an active account with plenty of followers. You could also emphasise the SEO benefits your article will have on their website.
If they agree, email them your article to be published.

First and foremost you will get good quality backlinks to your website. The main motivation for article marketing is to get backlinks from websites with a higher authority than your own.
Another benefit is increased awareness for your brand. If you get enough guest blogs after a while you may become a known entity.
